ANTIQUE COIN SILVER TEASPOON
Lovely antique coin silver teaspoon measuring 6-1/4″ long – weight is 15.9 grams. Bearing a partial strike mark for STORRS & DAVIES UTICA, silversmiths who operated out of the New York area around the 1830s. Monogrammed faintly “PLC”, condition is lovely with no dents, bends, or damage — I think the spoon may have been re-silvered at some point, as it has a mirror finish, and there is a tiny area within the bowl side that looks irregular – I cannot feel anything with my finger, but that’s my best guess – does not detract a bit. Please note, I am not positive that it was, in fact, re-silvered since the strike mark is not filled in. Just a simple, elegant spoon – so early – wonderful addition to any antique spoon collection or display!
